Please note these positions are not set if you would like to put your hand up now is the time to do so.
The above is to give all financial members an idea of who is interested in filling positions and is no guarantee they will win their positions.

27th June 2008: June 29th launch is GO! If in doubt, call Phillip on 0418 917 410

5th June 2008: How generous is Carl from Dawn Trading, he has sent 50 ESTES Hijax rocket kits to be used to help promote PARC to children. PARC salutes you!

3rd June 2008: June 8th launch is GO! But it might be a bit windy :(

20th May 2008: Breaking news from Phillip: As most know Stanbridges is PARC's sponsor and it was pointed out that PARC did not own a launch rack for children to use, so I thought I would build one myself to donate to PARC. Stanbridges heard of my special project and has paid for me to build PARC a Launch rack to hold 6 launch rods, a launch controller to enable 6 launches at once for the children members of PARC and as a huge bonus also donated 6 small Quest kits 48 blackpowder motors/wading/igniters, the glue to build the rockets was also included.

These kits will be used for loan rockets to children who are not members of PARC but visit our range during the year. This will let them have a small taste of what rocket flying is all about. It may also appear that Dawn Trading will also be contributing to further rocket kits in the future for PARC to utilise.

A BIG THANK-YOU STANBRIDGES (Peter) for your wonderful donation, I am sure that PARC will get years and years of use from the controller and the rack. - Phillip.

(ed: the photos on the ARA forum of the donated goods is quite impressive!)

18th May 2008: We have received the results of the submissions to DOCEP regarding the need for a Security Card.

Just a brief run down of what is now in place effective immediatley for PARC members.

  • Small rocket motors = A, B and C motors under 5.0g
  • Medium = D, E, F and G motors >5.0g and <62.5g
  • Large = H and I motors >62.5g and <325.0g

Below are requirements for the possession of model rocket motors

  • SMALL - Any person may purchase, possess and use small rocket motors provided that they are adults or under supervision.
  • MEDIUM - Any person can purchase, possess and use medium rocket motors provided they are current members of an approved rocketry club.
  • LARGE - Any person can purchase, possess and use large rocket motors provided that they have a current PSUL which will include the Security Card.

SO all members of PARC can now upon showing their membership card purchase up to 62.5g motors ie G without a permit or license. If you go High Power ie H and I you will require a PSUL and the DGSecurity Card unless you are under direct supervision by a Member who holds a PSUL and DGSC.

Clildren can launch Black powder and Composite motors up to and including G motors under direct supervision of an adult and must be a member of an approved rocketry club.

I have also queried about a clause 5.1.4 Power limits and PARC now has an exemption to allow model rockets that are propelled by more than one blackpowder motor to be launched. Composite clusters and staged rockets will require further notification to the PARC Committee so we can gain an exemption so long as it is a practical launch with established engineering principles it should be passed by DOCEP.

10th January 2008: There is a foul rumor circulating that some members will be launching J motors in the 2008 season...who are these twisted individuals? Are they entirely sane? Will they still be married at the end of 2008 of will their wives/husbands seek a spouse into more sedate hobbies...like flying kites? Will the web master start charging people to view this site so that he might afford a J motor of his own? Stay tuned...

11th August 2007: Tomorrows launch is on! Be there!! The last launch was a great sucess with the weather playing ball for once. Lets keep our fingers crossed for light winds tomorrow.

8th July 2007: In case you missed it in the clubs newsletter, the launch site has moved a few paddocks down the road. The launch site is on the corner of Lemming and Chatcup road - it's the paddock with the ruins on it. There will be signs from the old launch site directing folks to the new site.

13th June 2007: At this point, the launch for this Sunday is ON. Also, the PARC launch site has now been upgraded from a mid-power launch site to a high-power launch site. That means you can now launch rockets that weigh more than 1.5kg gross liftoff weight. The down side to this is that you need to fill in a log book before launching.

10th June 2007: Frank has a few packets of F20-4w and F20-7w 24mm motors he wishes to sell. Ask about them at the next launch if you are interested.

17th May 2007: The launch for this Sunday (20th) is on. Bring you rockets, bring your friends, pickup a few strangers on your way, just be there! Launching starts 9am sharp.

8th November 2006: THE 2006 FLYING SEASON IS NOW OVER. There will NOT be another launch until April 2007. It's been a great year with a number of new members joining the club. There has been some great launches and some very impressive rockets being flown this year and it looks like next year is going to be even better as some members step up to higher power rocketry. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank everyone that has attended a launch, but I would like to give a special thanks to Mark H. and Dave C. for going the extra yard or two. I might also mention Kevin S. who is the club president, for his continued perserverance in keeping PARC alive and also to Frank N. who also does a lot of work for the club.

This web site will continue to be updated from time to time during the off-season. And dont forget you can talk to Aussie rocketeers on the Australian Rocketry Forum if you wish (see links page) and also on rec.models.rocketry on the usenet.

27th October 2006: THE LAST LAUNCH FOR 2006 IS THIS WEEKEND, SUNDAY 29th OCTOBER! There will NOT be another launch until April 2007 so this is your last chance to fly some rockets before the fire ban shuts us down. See the LAUNCH DATES page for details.

25th October 2006: This web site has a new URL - http://www.triaxproducts.com.au/parc/ - please bookmark the new URL because the old one will soon cease to work.

13th October 2006: A couple of things:

  • The regulations for for model rocket motors has changed YET AGAIN <sigh>, but this time for the better - you no longer require police clearance to apply for a permit for composite engines so thats a saving of $40 and one less stuff around. The new application form is on the downloads page. The price has also gone up again...the permit now costs $17.50
  • Rumor has it that there will be an end of season get-together (no flying, just socializing) - more details when I get them.
